Some cars are more exciting to drive than others. Some cars appear to be boring on the surface but come to life on the open road. And some cars attract more moving violations than others.
Quality Planning, a well-known analytics company, took the time to rank the most ticketed vehicles in the United States. Their survey ranked vehicles based on the number of moving violations per vehicle, for every 100,000 miles on the road.
Upon reviewing this list, you may think twice before your next vehicle purchase.
1. Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Convertible
When it comes to flash and luxury, it does not get much better than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Convertible. Handsome looks, along with its ability to reach high speeds, make this car the most ticketed on the road.
2. Toyota Camry Solara Coupe
Many people find it hard to believe that the Toyota Camry Solara Coupe is on this list. Despite the fact that this car is economical, it attracts more moving violations than most. Of course, its high standing on the list may have a lot to do with how many of these vehicles are on the road.
3. Scion tC Coupe
The Scion tC Coupe is an economical choice for young drivers looking for a sporty appearance. However, if you are going to get behind the wheel of this vehicle you should realize that your chance of receiving a ticket is much higher. Most find it hard to believe that this vehicle is third on the list.
4. Hummer H2/H3 SUV
Talk about being flashy. When you drive a Hummer H2 or H3 you are practically begging for attention. Let’s put it this way: you are not going anywhere without being recognized by a lot of people, including the police.
5. Scion XB Hatchback
Much like the Scion tC, this model is a ticket magnet. The reason is simple: the Scion XB Hatchback attracts a large number of young, male drivers who enjoy driving fast and taking risks.
6. Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG Sedan
The Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG Sedan has it all. Good looks, big engine, and a luxurious interior. Unfortunately, once you are behind the wheel of this car you may find it difficult to lay off the gas pedal.
7. Acura Integra Coupe
The Acura Integra Coupe has not been sold as a new vehicle since the late 90’s. That being said, this model is still popular enough to make the list.
8. Pontiac Grand Prix
The Pontiac brand may be dead but the Grand Prix lives on. This is a nice car for men who enjoy driving fast and looking good, while still carting around a family and/or groceries. Its aggressive good looks attract the police at every turn of the road.
9. Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG
Surprise, surprise, yet another Mercedes-Benz model makes the list. The CLK 63 AMG is one of the fastest cars on the road. Not to mention the fact that it looks like a sports car that can fly. You are not hiding when you drive this car.
10. Volkswagen GTI Hatchback
Young male drivers love the look of the Volkswagen GTI Hatchback. And guess what? This vehicle is much faster than many give it credit for. The appearance and speed, coupled with the targeted demographic, have landed the Volkswagen GTI Hatchback on the list.
